I recieved the belt drive conversion kit from scootworks (it took about 2 1/2 months) for my Kawasaki 800 Classic. The complete installation took me and my wife about 6 hours. If it actually does have a dead spot, rebuild kit will not help. 3. Troubleshoot the problem in order to find and repair only the fault that is present. If you need help to troubleshoot, post back.Choking. You should find a knurled ring at the base of the choke knob (the holder I guess is the word) which may be covered by a rubber cover. Lift the rubber up and tighten the ring a bit,this is the choke tensioner. Elevater. V.T.E (elevator guy) 97 classic with a few goodies.Shoud be at least 12.6 v. Start the bike, rev it to 3,000+ rpm and again check the voltage across the battery posts. You should see a minimum of 13.5 v and would like to see 14.0 - 14.5 v but your new battery will need time to fully charge unless you took it home and charged it, which is a good thing to do. It sounds like your crankcase ventilator is blocked. The alternator is in the crankcase and blow-by from the piston rings will pressurize the case if it can't vent. I don't know the 800 engine, but a blowup of the engine should show you where the vent is. Good luck.

Most bikes would be about 15V at 5000 rpm, but you need to find the specs for your bike. It could be that the meter is off, though. You might want to check the voltage and the connection points with a multimeter to compare.900 problems. O.K. been riding since 1959 and have had everything going and some no longer going so I know all bikes have their own 'quirks'. I need to downsize from my C-90 at my age (knees are shot, back spasms etc). Really like the looks and feel of the 900. But one of main reasons not to go Suzuki again is their p*ssy electrical system..
