I just bought an FN FAL and I can't find out what year it was made. I have tried checking the serial number but I keep hitting dead ends.Everyone likes the novelty of a FAL with folding stock. Everyone prefers to shoot a FAL without a folding stock. If you are regularly riding around in vehicles with your FAL in condition 1, you might prefer the folder. A full size MBR is rather awkward when riding in the back of a van with seven other fellas in full kit.I am going to do a little sanding first though, from Ironwood, the wood is sanded to 150 I believe. Matt said he recommends not going above 600 or you stock looks like a "shiny table in a pizzaria." Really excited by the wood and appreciate reading so many opinions in the previous threads. "C" marked HTS parts are US made but generally crappy, other companies made nicer HTS sets that are around but expensive. SARCO took these matching number rears and added an Argentine barrel and various other front end parts to assemble complete 'kits'. The matching number 'kit' was found and reunited with the Argie 01469 front end so the rifle is back like it was in '89/'90 save for the milsurp combo device..
