Owned this ski about 1 year. Recently I have been having an issue that the ski will throw up a fault code P0298. The code appears around 1 hour or more of riding and the ski will say check engine and the light will come on and the ski will go in to limp mode. But then when you let go of the throttle ...You have to use XPS full synthetic oil with the DI motor. Since it uses less fuel, it relies heavily on the oil for cooling and lubrication. This could possibly shut it down.Jan 12, 2018. #2. You can't just unplug or unbolt the knock sensor. The engine is constantly advancing and retarding timing and listens for it to start to knock (voltage signal changes) and then will back off the timing. If the sensor never detects knock, it will throw a code. Swapping the sensor out for a resistor is a very bad idea.
Purchased and installed an aftermarket intercooler and then pulled the TB off to clean and lube. It took about 20 minutes of working the throttle plate back and forth with my fingers, but finally got full range of motion back. New Member. Sep 11, 2011. #1. Here is the story, looking for any advice at this point! Took 2007 GTI-se 155hp to dealer for oil change. After pick up rode on lake for 10 minutes, received oil alarm and code p1520. Secured engine, lit it off, rode it up to 3500 rpms, same result, oil light, alarm and code p1520. Checked oil level, looked perfect.Got back to my dock and checked the oil, which was clean and full. I did hit the Mode button and found a Fault Code P 2081. From all the searches on the internet I can find that it seems to be Exhaust Temp Sensor.
