The Sweet 16 was made in Belgium from 1936 until 1976. Sweet 16's were discontinued when Auto-5 Production ... I have a 16ga Auto 5 that my grandfather bought new in the 30’s or 40’s I believe. It has a Belgium stamped barrel that is marked “special steel 16ga” with hieroglyphics afterward. The serial number is X10406. That threw off the guys at Browning who asked “are your sure it’s not 20ga?”. I can provide pictures if it helps..
