Also the fans were running full tilt engine off. I restarted it a couple of time no change. fans on and temp gauge didnt budge. The fan may be coming on because the engine is overheating. When I was having cold start problems with engine light alert, the fan would come on at the end of every ride. To solve the starting problem I added ethanol-free gasoline; it solved that problem, and the fan no longer came on.The blower is supposed to stay on for a few minutes after the car is off. Look in your owners manual. I think it's primarily for cold weather, it keeps the car interior warm until the heater core completely cools down.
