Looking at my 2004 Hodgdon Annual Manual, the hottest loads for the 45-70 are slightly faster than the hottest loads for the 457 WWM, but not by much. The only real difference appears to be that the 457 WWM operates at lower pressures and is slightly longer.. Figs scrubs sizing

Otherwise, the 44 mag or 45 Colt are very close to each other, especially in a carbine.
